Marine motors

The term “marine motors” normally refers to an IEC motor, designed, manufactured and tested according to the requirements and specifications of the marine classification societies* and thus qualified for use in applications on ships and naval vessels. The manufacturer of the marine motor usually provide a “works certificate” / “test sheet”  proving  the motor meets the above requirements. In addition, there may, depending on the rules of the individual classification societies, be required special testing, etc., depending on the power rating of the motor and the application.*):
